Australia you're standing in it!


This term's unit is 'Australia you're standing in it! Part of the homework this week is to write 5 interesting facts about Australia although we can contribute to this post throughout the term as we learn more about where we live.

    4. The capital city of Australia is Canberra.
    5. The Australian flower is the wattle.

    2.Australia has lots of native animals like kangaroos, koalas, wombats, possums, wallabies, and Echidna's.

    3. There are 21 877 553 people in living in Australia.

    4. The capital of Australia Canberra.

    5. There are 6 states and 2 territories in Australia.

  10. Australia s bird emblem is an emu .



    Australia get s more sun because it is near the top of the earth.

    Australia s colours are green and gold.

    Australia got green and gold from wattle which is Australia's native plant.

    There are lots of Australian native animals like Kangaroos , Wombat s , koala s , platypus `s, numbat s ,emu s and an dingo s and also the Tasmanian devil.

    Australia was discovered by Captain Cook.
    Australias flower is the wattle.
    Australia has a lot of famous places like Ularu and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
    In Australia there are over 19 million people.
    Some of Australias famous animals are kangaroos,koalas,emus,dingos and platypus.
    Australia is the 6th largest country in the world.
    Australia doesn't get tornatoes but it can get baby ones.The baby ones are not recognised by people in a windy and rainy storm.

  15. Livi. I think you are on the right track about why Australia is a warm country. It has something to do with where Australia is on Earth. My clue is that the coldest places are the North and South Poles. They are cold because they are at the very top and very bottom of the earth. So why is Australia warm? Hmmmm.....does anyone know?

    The mainland of Australia is the largest island and the world's smallest, flattest continent.
    Australia has 85.7 million sheep and produces most of the world's wool.
    Australia is the sixth largest country in the world.
    Western Australia's emblem has a numbat as it's animal, it's flora is a red and green kangaroo paw and it's fauna is the black swan.
