HFS MASTERCHEF!!

Post a yummy recipe that you think your classmates would like to eat.  Don't forget to include a list of ingredients and steps to follow.  You can also comment on classmates' recipes or try one for yourself!!

  1. Coco Pop Biscuits
    Ingredients
    1 cup of coco pops
    1 cup of self raising flour
    1 cup of coconut
    3/4 cup of castor sugar
    125g of butter or margarine melted
    1 egg lightly beaten
    combine all dry ingredients. Add butter then egg and mix well.
    Roll a tablespoon of mixture into a ball and place on an oven tray and flatten slightly with a fork.
    Cook in 180 deg oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly brown.

  2. ICECREAM COOKIES

    INGREDENTS

    2 packets malt biscuits
    600mls cream
    1 can condenced milk
    maltesers or chocolates of your choice crushed

    METHOD

    layer 1 packet malt biscuits in tray
    whip cream fold in condensed milk & crushed maltesers
    spread mixture over biscuits cover with 2nd packet malt biscuits
    cover & freeze
    cut in half & enjoy
    yum!

  3. NACHOS

    Ingredients:
    1. 300grams of minced meat.
    2. 1 packet of corn chips.
    3.Grated cheese.
    4.Nachos mix

    Method:
    Cook the meat.
    Add Nachos mix.
    Simmer for 15 minutes.
    Put meat in a bowl.
    Stick lots of corn chips in it.
    Sprinkle the cheese over the top.
    EAT!

  4. Ingredients:
    •150g mini marshmallows
    •50g soft butter
    •250g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids; chopped into small pieces)
    •60ml hot water from a recently boiled kettle
    •1x284ml tub double cream
    •1tsp vanilla extract

    Method:
    1. put the marshmallows, butter, chocolate and water in a heavy based saucepan.

    2. put the saucepan on the hob, over heat, though keep it fairly gentle, to melt the contents, stirring every now and again. remove from the heat.

    3. meanwhile, whip the cream with the vanilla extract until thick, and then fold into the cooling chocolate mixture until you have a smooth, cohesive mixture.

    4. pour or scrape into 4 glasses or ramekins, about 175ml each in capacity, or 6 smaller (125ml) ones, and chill until you want to eat. the sooner the better!

    serves 4-6. ENJOY :)

  5. Hummingbird Cake

    First catch one hummingbird with your best net. Then take it back to your house and pluck the feathers........ only joking!

    Ingredients:
    1 cup plain flour
    1/2 cup self raising flour
    1 teaspoon ground cimmamon
    1/2 teaspoon bicarb
    3/4 cup castor sugar
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    3/4 cup crushed pineapple in natural juice

    Method:
    1. Sift flour, cinnamon & bicarb.
    2. Stir in sugar.
    3. Stir together eggs, oil and pineapple.
    4. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

    Bake in 20 cm tin at 180 degrees for one hour.

  6. Chocolate Hazlenut Slice!

    Ingredients:

    *125g of butter chopped
    *2 tablespoons of golden syrup
    *1/2 a tin of condensed milk
    *1 packet of crushed milk arrowroot biscuits
    *A large block of hazelnut chocolate
    *And 30g of copha

    Method:
    *Combine butter,syrup,milk and stir over low heat.
    *Mix with the crushed arrowroots and pour into a greased lamington tin.
    *Top it of with combined chocolate and copha.

    All ready to eat...

  7. BACON & EGGS

    Ingredients:
    - 3 eggs
    - 1 tsp margarine
    - 3 dashes of milk
    - 3 handfuls bacon bits

    Equipment:
    - frypan
    - egg flip / whisk
    - teaspoon
    - fork

    Method:
    1. Preheat frypan on stove and add 1 teaspoon of margarine to melt.
    2. While waiting for margarine to melt, crack 3 eggs into a bowl and whisk them with a fork.
    3. Place two handfuls of bacon bits into the frypan and stir with a wooden spoon. Cook for 2 minutes.
    4. Once bacon is cooked, add the eggs and milk dashes
    5. Stir until eggs and bacon are cooked. You will know when eggs are cooked, when all the egg yolk has disappeared.
    6. Pour the eggs onto the plate and serve.

  8. Court's Chocolate Slice recipe can have any type of chocolate on the top...it doesn't have to be hazlenut. Mint Chip is yummy too!

  9. BUTTER MILK SCONES

    3 cups self raising flour
    1 teaspoon icing suger
    60g butter (chopped)
    430ml buttermilk
    240g strawberry jam

    METHOD

    1)preheat oven to 220/c,grease and flour square pan
    2)combine flour,icing suger and butter in food processor,process untill it looks like breadcrumbs.Add buttermilk,process untilljust combined(mixture should be sticky).Turn dough onto floured surface,knead untill smooth.
    3)press dough out into 3cm thickness.using a 5.5 round cutter,cut dough into 16 rounds.
    4)place scones into pan,just touching lightly.
    5)Bake uncovered,for 20 mins or browned lightly.

    MEANWHILE

    Beat cream in a small bowl,untill fluffy.
    Serve warm,with cream and jam.

  10. Ok...this is one that you can not eat!!!
    A few people have asked me how to make the salt dough that we have used in class, so I thought I would add it here for you all.

    2 cups of flour
    1 cup of salt
    1 cup of water

    mix all the ingredients together and let your imagination go wild!

    You can leave your dough out to dry near a window or out in the sun (make sure if it happens to rain that it can't get wet as it will havto sit there for a few days) or mum and dad can help you cook it very slow in an oven for 4 hrs.

  11. To make 8 casadillas you will need -
    16 pita or tortilla breads.
    500g Tasty cheese,
    500g Mozzarella cheese and
    125g Parmesan cheese, all grated.
    1 small finely chopped onion
    4 cloves fresh crushed garlic
    3 branches chopped coriander
    A big handful of chopped baby spinach

    Spread mixture evenly between two breads.
    Spray cooking surface lightly with oil
    and cook for approx. 2 minutes
    Suitable for bbq, panfry or sandwich press.
    Ready when cheese is fully melted.
    Enjoy!!

    Yum! Try to eat just one!!
